Mangoes Barefoot

You know how we love a story about our locale here at Lacada, and the tales of Magnús Óláfsson, better known as Magnus Barefoot, are epic. The last King of Norway to die in battle abroad, landed on the silky sands of Portrush’s East Strand on a warm August day seeking provisions before returning home. Tales differ, some say that his men captured Dunluce Castle and raided widely, others that the King of Connaught had sent cattle fit for slaughter, but the chronicles agree that he and his men, burdened with supplies, were ambushed in what is now known as The War Hollow on Royal Portrush Golf Club.

Nowadays, bare feet still run among the dunes, but any screams are from happy ankle-biters rather than the many victims of the great sword Legbiter.

Our 9 Rubies Raspberry is going down a treat, and we're adding to our fruit inspired range with a Mango Citra IPA.  This one adds Chinook to the Citra & Mosaic to temper the smooth tropical fruit with a bittersweet ending.

We’ll be launching it later tonight at the Portrush Beer and Food Festival. Enjoy!
