Follow the Lifecycle of a Pint

Our brewery tour takes you through seven stops inside a real working brewery on the Causeway Coast. You will handle raw malt, smell hops, taste hot wort from the kettle, and finish with a curated tasting of our beers — guided by the people who brewed them. By the end, you will know the entire journey of the pint in your hand.

Stop 1The Bar & Co-Op

It starts where every good story starts — at the bar. We’ll tell you how a father and son’s nano-brewery became a community-owned co-operative with over 400 members. You’ll understand why this place exists before you see how it works.

Stop 2The Malt

Get your hands on the raw ingredients. We’ll pass around samples of pale malt, roasted barley, crystal malt, and speciality grains so you can see, smell, and taste the foundation of every beer we make. This is where flavour begins.

Stop 3The Warm Store

Barrels, kombucha, and your sample glass. This is our warm store — where barrel-aged beers rest and our live-cultured kombucha ferments. You’ll pick up your tasting glass here. From this point on, you’re following the lifecycle of a pint.

Stop 4The Brewhouse

The heart of the operation. See the hot liquor tank where we treat our water, the mash tun where grain meets liquid, and the kettle where hops go in and wort comes to life. If the timing’s right, you’ll taste a hot sample straight from the brew.

Stop 5Fermentation & Conditioning

Where science takes over from craft. We’ll walk you through the fermenters, explain how yeast transforms sweet wort into beer, how we capture natural CO₂, and why temperature control and conditioning time are the difference between a good beer and a great one.

Stop 6Packaging

From tank to can to cold store. See how we package, label, and prepare beer for the taproom, the shop, and stockists across Northern Ireland. We’ll tell you the story of our first canning line — and the day it nearly didn’t work.

Stop 7The Office & Tasting

The payoff. Surrounded by our awards wall and the original label artwork, you’ll sit down for a curated tasting of selected Lacada beers — guided by the people who brewed them. The tour starts with the co-op story and ends here, where you’re invited to become part of it.
